Thumb Feels Out Of Joint, No Pain. Nausea And Discomfort. Wearing Splint. How Did I Get This?

Hello,
Didn't know if u have heard of this happening? I woke up about 3 weeks ago and found that my thumb felt out of joint but didn't hurt and no clicking sound or feeling, it just made me nauseated because it felt so weird. I pulled on the thumb as u would if u jammed it and then had pain. I have been wearing a splint that a physical therapist recommended to keep it from moving but the splint also causes a little pain and it doesn't feel this way all of the time but I am wearing the splint more and more. i am making an appt. with an ortho but wondering how I could get this upon wakening all of a sudden.

Hi, Thanks for calling Health care magic forum.
It appears to be the dislocation of the metacarp phalyngeal joint due to some involantary abnormal movement of the thumb. it may need to have an x.ray for diagnosis and treatment.
Any how you had appoint ment with the surgeon he will pull the finger and put a plaster, for immobilization.
Wishing for a quick and complete recovery.
