I'm a 26 year old female and was prescribed adipex 37.5 qd a couple weeks ago. I took it for 6 days and started having chest pain, manic episodes and insomnia. I stopped taking it 3 days ago and made an appt with my dr for tomorrow. But, in the mean time, I've continued to have chest pain and am concerned that this medication has caused a heart problem. Is it possible to have a heart attack or pulmonary hypertension this quickly after only taking adipex for 6 days or am I having residual effects from this medication? I worry because two of my grandparents died from heart attacks and my father and uncle have had major heart attacks and bypass surgery with valve replacement. I'm hoping that my reading about female heart attack symptoms is just increasing my anxiety causing these pains instead of actually having severe heart damage (chest pain that's like pressure... Sometimes squeezing but it's on right side, not the left... Sometimes I have numbness and tingling in my right hand and sometimes there is shoulder pain but its also on the right side).
