Took Contraceptive Pill. Came Off To Have Ultra Sound. Small Bumps In Labia. Lumps Traveled My Anus. Genital Herpes?
I recently took the morning after pill having come off the contraceptive pill after doctors advice. I came off the pill to have an ultra sound after suspected POS. the scan came back clear and as I had had sex with my regular partner, I took the morning after pill as precaution. A day later I noticed one small bump which I popped on my labia. The next day more lumps appeared and traveled to my anus. I went to the doctor Friday and showed her the same to which she thought was an infection and that she thought i wa due a period due to the flare up. I was placed on fluxo pills 4x a day and told it would clear the infection. I then began my forst period in 6 years extremely heavy. Unfortunately the tablets did not work. The pain got worse and worse so I rest tended my surgery yesterday. She advised that it could be genital herpes but would not know without a test. I therefore went to the hospital GUM clinic for a test. They took swabs of the area and advised they will take 3 weeks to return. My partner has no symptoms and I have had full checks previously with negative results for all STIs so quite confused. Today I have woken with an extremely sore coxyxx area with a red line of soreness. I am only 19 years old and have spoken to my mother regarding ye symptoms. It is u fortunate that my both aunties suffer with cysts and have had removal of cysts/abscesses near the coxyx area. I am worried this is something else. I also suffer with excess hair growth.
The presentation described quite elaborately by you does resemble that of an STI, eother herpes, HPV, or any other infection. The swab tests should report the result accurately.
As for the pain around the coccyx this could be a symptom of the infection or can even be related to other conditions, but we should first rule out infrctions as the cause.
The excess hair growth is called hirsutism and is a symptom of the PCOS you were initially diagnosed with. Please discuss that with your doctor as well.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
