Took Plan B After Unprotected Sex. Periods Irregular And Not Received Full Period After Having Pill. Pregnancy Chances?

Hello, Doctor.

I have some questions regarding pregnancies and I am hoping you can help me.
My boyfriend and I had unprotected sex two days ago, and it lasted about three minutes. He did not ejaculate, however he said he was somewhat close to. I have taken Plan B a few weeks ago after another instance of intercourse (he did not ejaculate then, either), and I am not sure of the chances his pre-ejaculate (if he did this time), will get me pregnant. I bled a few days after I took the first Plan B pill. I am wondering if I should take another one if the chances of our last intercourse will get me pregnant. My period is very irregular and I have not received a full period ever since I took the first Plan B pill. I don't know if I should take another one, because I feel as if I do, my period will be irregular for even longer, but the chances of pregnancy will lessen. Please help!

Hi
Irregularity in periods is a side effect of this hormonal contraceptive pills. So it doesnt means that you are pregnant. Its effectiveness depends on how soon you take the pill. It should be taken as soon as possible -- within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse. When Plan B One-Step is taken as directed, it can reduce the chance of pregnancy by close to 90%.
hope this may help you
thanks
