Top Of The Hand Bruise Easily. Can It Be Due To Benazepril, Atenolol, Amlodipine Besylate Taking For Blood Pressure?
I am a 66 year old man. I am very healthy. I jog\walk 100 miles a month and play tennis. I have been able to keep my weight in check . I am 5'8" and 166 pounds. Because of a family history of high blood pressure, I take blood pressure medicine each night. I take 20 mg of benazepril, 25 mg of atenolol, and 5 mg of amlodipine besylate. The tops of my hands bruise easily. Would my medication have anything to do with it? My doctor thinks it's my heredity and age. Any thoughts?
I dont think it is due to these drugs, normally these drugs doesnot have any bleeding tendencies, but some times benzapril a ace inhibitor causes bleeding.
It is necessary to take precautions and to undergo following tests 1. Complete blood count 2. Blood pressure monitoring 3. Bone marrow study if the platelets are low
Secondly take precautionsthat there is no sign of secondary infections
Thanks
