Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your husband who is a veteran and seen in VA 2 times; 2 years ago he had a scar tissue wrapped up against colon and was admitted for a 16 day period and was almost lost. He has the similar pain and the Doctors are thinking of a blood clot in colon and down the left leg. This could have been easily diagnosed by the following: - Contrast enhanced CT scan. - Ultrasonography with color doppler mode. Insist on getting these done and also CT scan of the whole abdomen with contrast Enterography to know whether the old problem os scar around colon or small intestine has come back to cause a problem or not. The treatment will surely depend upon the reports of the investigations, clinical evaluation and examination. Second opinion on another Doctors/ Specialist is always a welcome stage in getting an early diagnosis and have appropriate management.
