Treatment For Bruise And Numbness For An Injured Shin Bone

I got injured on my right shin bone there was bruising and there is still numbness. On my shin the right half of the shin is numb the left half of the shin is painful to touch. This was an injury I got last month at a martial arts tournament even though I had a protector to protect that part of my leg I still managed to get injured by the hard impact of my opponents knee. I have rested it, iced it, compressed it and even elevated it,but I'm still numb and have pain on half of the shin.I did go to the doctor they said to give it a month- it might be a compressed nerve due to swelling. Well it's been beyond one month and I still have no feeling in part of my shin and pain. What should I do?
