Treatment For Congestive Heart Failure And Water In Lung?

My father is 90 years old. Today a doctor diagnosed him with congestive heart failure and water in the lungs. He gave him 4-6 weeks to live (on the very outside). My father has refused to eat, today being day four and only sips very little water during the day. Is the diagnosis correct?

HELLO
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query. I understand your concerns.
As your husband father is aged around 90 years, it's very common scenario in this age for the heart to fail.

You have not mentioned about the Co. Morbid conditions like diabetes mellitus and hypertension.

These are additional risk factors. By the symptoms you are talking about, he is suffering from left ventricular failure or pulmonary oedema.

Your doctor has correctly diagnosed it.

Hope this helps you
