Hi I have been coughing for about 5months went to the doctor and they found a nodular in my left upper lobe but didn t tell me the size I don t really cough in the day its at night or when I get excited or mad I am so scared because it seem as if it could be bad I NEVER smoked and I am 38 years old what do you think
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. You are having chronic cough with nodular opacity in left upper lobe. This can be seen in following conditions. 1. Tuberculosis 2. Chronic pneumonia. 3. Fungal infection. 4. Benign cyst 5. Lung abscess 6. Lung cancer. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done 1. CT thorax with contrast 2. Bronchoscopic evaluation Both are needed to rule out above mentioned conditions. So, don't panic, consult pulmonologist and first diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
