Treatment For Headache Due To Kerosene Fumes

My husband cleaned the kitchen floor with kerosene and now the house stinks. He claims to have had the windows open while doing this but the smell is overwhelming. It is giving me a headache. Should I leave the house or is it just an annoyance that is not harmful?

hi madam,
i can understand your concern regarding kerosene inhalation. yes definitely its harmful if you persitently exposed with the fumes. it will cause headache, nausea, confusion, drowsiness and severe cases may lead to convulsions. if you inhale in to your lung directrly, can cause chemical pneumonitis.
kerosene is hydrocarbons, can cause nervous system problems. you already developed headache, so better go away from that place for sometime, till its evaporated completely .
so take care and avoid the place at present.
thank you for your query
