Trying To Conceive, Spotting A Little, Now Turned Like A Actual Period. What Is Going On?

Hello, My name is Tiffany. I have recently been trying to conceive. My last period was on the 6th of October. I was supposed to be ovulating on the 20th of October. I have done everything that I was supposed to be doing to conceive. The only thing is I started spotting a little this past Sunday, which was said to be normal. It has now turned like a actual period. I have no idea whats going on. PLEASE give me a little insight on what may be going on with my body. I am so confused and scared.

Hi,

Please do not feel scared. These are common complaints for many women.

From what I understand from your complaints, you started bleeding around October 20 which was supposed to be the day for your ovulation.
There are many causes for this.
1. Cervical infections like erosion that bleed on touch and it may have been caused due to trauma of sex.
2. Cervical polyp: small tumor of the cervix that causes irregular bleeding.
3. Slight hormonal imbalance and early menstruation: though it takes at least 3 weeks for a normal cycle to occur that is minimum 21 -22 days for the last period.
4. missed abortion or threatened abortion: Sometimes slight bleeding occurs during the time of regular periods despite a pregnancy occurring in the previous cycle. So it is perceived as a normal period and the woman feels that she is not pregnant when she actually is. If this pregnancy aborts, it may cause such bleeding.

My suggestion for you would be to do a urine pregnancy test and if negative just wait for another cycle. If still the symptoms persist, an ultrasound and examination by a gynecologist is needed to rule out any causes.

Hope this was helpful. Thanks for using Health care magic and do not worry.
