Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic
Eye twitching can be minor or more severe in nature.
IN the case of minor eye twitching, it can occur with
fatigue, stress, lack of sleep and the use of alcohol, tabacco or caffeine.
Medical assessment by a doctor is normally suggested if any of the following occur: (1) persists for more than 1 week
(2)the twitching completely closes an eyelid
(3)the spasms involve other muscles in the face
(4)there is
redness, swelling or discharge
(5) there is a drooping upper eyelid
In terms of treatment: (1) reduction in caffeine use and any
smoking or alcohol reduction may also be helpful
(2)if the doctor believe that dry eyes may be causing or contributing to the symptoms , treatment with drops may also be helpful
(3)stress reduction
(4)medications such as
lorazepam or
clonazepam may also be helpful
(5) if it is severe, your doctor may also consider the use of botox
I hope this helps
