Two And Half Month Old Child, Won't Put Weight On Left Leg. X-ray Normal. Advise?
I have a two and a half baby that got up this morning and will not put any weight on his left leg. I took him to the doctor this morning and she took x-rays of his knee and hip. Nothing looked wrong. It has been over 12 hours and he still will not walk on his leg. He can crawl and walk on his knees but when he stands up he falls to the floor. Any ideas?
i decipher that your son is 2& 1/2 yr son needs to be examined thoroughly by a pediatrician . Would like to know few things: 1)was there any episode of fever prior to this episode ? 2)is there any complaints of pain in the left hip joint, knee joints or ankle? 3)is there any muscle tenderness? 4)does his leg seems very loose? 5)Is there any injury on the sole of the foot? 6)has he been vaccinated according to schedule?
It is difficult to diagnose without examining him .There could be a possibility of myosotis, reactive arthritis, septic arthritis or local sprain in the left leg.I would suggest get him examined by a pediatrician to rule out the above possibilities.
