Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus And Cold Laser Treatment
My name XXXXXX. I am 58. I am diagnosed DM( Type 2 diabetes mellitus ) Peripheral neropathy. but one doctor said DM(Type 2 diabetes mellitus) will come only after 5 to 6 years of diabetes. but I am diagnosed with diabetes 5 months back. my parents did not have any diabetes. i have constant pain in my toes. my sugar level -- 95- 130 under control. I had this pain when i did not have diabetes. I want to know whether cold laser treat meant will help me. How long the treatment takes. and what are the facilities available and cost of the treatment.

It is true that DM nephropathy develops only 5-6 yrs after diabetes but you might have had DM for the past 5-6 years without being diagnosed since in many cases DM type II is asymptomatic. So the neuropathy is an accurate diagnosis for you. Also Type II DM is not genetically inherited. It is an acquired condition arising due to the resistance of the insulin receptors to insulin. Laser therapy is not yet approved as a treatment for neuropathy.
