USG Shows Pregnancy. Bleeding During Travelling. Taken Proluton, Progesterone. USG Shows No Fetus. Reason?
I am 6 weeks and 6 days pregnant according to my ultrasound report. I was traveling 5 days back and started having bleeding the moment after DE-boarded the plane but the flow of blood stopped after 15 mins. Went to the doctor immediately, he did an u/s wherein fetus pole wasn't detected and gave me a proluton depot 500mg injection (prescribed weekly), neogest progesterone soft gelatin cap 100 mg twice daily. Two days later, he did transvaginal u/s and saw two gest sacs but no fetus. He has asked me to continue with the medication and go for and u/s in 8 weeks i.e. after 2 weeks. Please suggest if any of these medications are harmful and what is the possibility that I have a fetus which was not seen earlier.
Sometimes fetal pole may not be detected in ultrasound in very early pregnancy. Usually trans-vaginal ultrasound can detect the fetal pole by 6 completed weeks. Sometimes due to wrong dates, improper resolution of machine etc. the fetal pole may not be seen. So you can wait for one more week and go for repeat scan as told by your doctor. The medicines prescribed by your doctor are not harmful to the fetus generally. For more details you can ask me through: http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-sree-gouri-sr/63429 Take care.
