Hi Dr, My ultrasound report is echo texture is heterogeneous and there are some calcifications. the seminal vesicles are grossly unremarkable bladder echoes are unremarkable, volume 205cc and post-void volume was 98cc. summary enlarged prostate with heterogeneous echo texture and calcifications. normal bladder echoes and 47% retention I want to know what are the meaning. Thanks
hi, Your prostate is enlarged. Normally it is heterogenous echotexture on ultrasound which means there are areas and white and black. Calcifications can also be a normal thing. Your prostate is obstructing the bladder and hence 98cc of urine out of 205 cc is left in the bladder. Consult your urologist regarding further investigations and treatment.
