Unable To Move Limbs, Speak Or Swallow, Lost Weight Due To Dermatomyositis. Is There Any Chance Of Remission?

my 42 yr old brother in law has been diagnose with dermatomyositis he can not move any of limbs ,speak or swallow he has lost over 50 lbs even though he say he is not in any pain.his symptoms are advancing rapidly.we are aware their is no cure .is their any chance of remission he say he is dying & is this hereditary .his mom had scloradoma

There is no cure for dermatomyosistis but it can be controlled fairly and the person can lead a normal life if treated early . I will like to review all his reports if you can send me and his current medications, only then I will be able to guide you further.
