Unbearable Pain Due To Disc Bulging, Moderate Stenosis. Endured Spinal Fusion. Any Alternative Treatment Other Than Surgery?
I have disc bulging with decreased disc height at c-5 and c-6.with posterior marginal osteophyte formation with indentation on the ventral sac plus moderate stenosis of the entrance to the left neural canal.plus, c-6,c-7 disc bulging. I have lived with this for 3 yrs now but, the pain is getting unbearable.ive already endured a spial fusion at L-5s1. My question I guess, is surgery the only option for this. Any alternative suggestions would be appreciated.Im only 45 yrs old and a very petite woman and live a very active life. I would like to keep it that way
hello, thank you for asking this question. the tratment of a herniatic disc can be any analgesic medicament, starting from paracetamol, codeine, and more rarelly non steroidal antinflammatory drugs. This is of coarse not a final solution for a hernial disc, with the time, as the herniation becomes larger the pain can not be dominated any more by all those drugs so the next step is surgery. I suggest you to talk with a neurosurgerist about your problem after effecting CT of the colon or MRI examinations showind the size of your herniatic disc. A second advice is not to get affraid of this surgery, they have low risks in our days. I belive you will keep beeing an active women after the surgery :) kind regards
