Unprotected Sex. Itching Around Genital Area. Stinging At The Tip Of Penis. What Could This Be?
Hello there I have had sex with a new partner and almost immediately after (the following day) I started to experience itching around my genital area. I have since shaved my pubic region and the itching has stopped however I have a slight tingling/stinging in the tip of my penis. Not when I urinate/ejaculate but just constant. What could this be?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Itching around the genital region could be due to number of reasons. Infection of the genital region, skin inflammation, primary skin disease are some of the causes of itching. Shaving of the genital region can also lead to itching due to local irritation. Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) commonly cause symptoms of itching, rash, discharge, lymph node enlargement, etc. The tingling or stinging sensation experienced on the penis is unlikely to be due to STDs. However, in-order to prevent STDs, practice safe sex.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
