Unsatisfied Frequent Urination, Burning Sensation After Urination. History Of Having Unprotected Sex And Taking Contraceptive Pill. Suggest

i had an unprotected sex on friday night and had emergency contraceptive pills on saturday evening. it was well till sunday but since sunday evening, i have started having frequent urination, unsatisfied urination and a burning sensation at the end of urination? is it because i don't drink water sufficiently? or cause of not maintaining sanitation? or eating anything bad? m very confused? is it cuz m pregnant? may be?

Hello dear,

The case history as mentioned in your post does not indicate pregnancy.
The symptoms like frequent urge to pass urine & a burning sensation at the end of urination suggests towards possibility of Urinary tract infection.

The treatment involves:
1. Drinking lots of water (it dilutes the urine & reduces the burning sensation)
2. Antibiotics depending upon culture & sensitivity.
3. Analgesic like paracetamol 500 mg three times in a day can be added to take care of pain and fever (if any).

Investigations like Urine microscopy & culture will be helpful.

So, kindly consult an Urologist & start treatment accordingly.
One more thing...you should avoid acidic foods, carbonated drinks & maintain good hygiene.
There is no need to worry...you will perfectly alright after taking the course of antibiotics.
