I recently submitted sputum for c/s and was advised by the e.r. physician that I have a unusual bacteria in my Lungs. he said he had never dealt with it before but after some research, said that it was treatable with 6 months of antibiotics.I cannot recall what the org. is called and do not have a;follow up with my G.P. until friday. Any ideas what this could be? thank you
If it requires 6 months treatment then it can either a tuberculosis or nocardiosis. These two will require 6 months of treatment however aspergillosis can also requite a long treatment but it is a fungus.
