Hi and thanks for the query, Excessive sweating and chills are suggestive an infectious process. In my opinion, a history of asthma, heart disease, smoking and exposure to someone coughing for a long time is important. A physical examination coupled with a chest X ray and complete blood count are sufficient to orient the diagnosis. Other blood tests like blood cultures and sensitivity testing and sputum examination to exclude pulmonary TB, based on the physical examination findings of your doctor could be asked at some point in time.
