Urine Test Shows E.coli Growth. Taken Urifast, Alkasol, Bispec. When Can Results Be Expected?
Urine test shows ~10,000 CFU Escherichia coli growth per ml urine . Anitibiotic being administered is URFIFAST 100 mg cap twice daily . Today is the third day and the patient is urinating about 10 time in 24 hrs and total volume is around 1 litre . Also being administered is ALKASOL , BISPEC ( tab ) 5 mg and EVALON ointment .
Kindly indicate expected time for antibiotic to show results .
Hi, Thanks for using Healthcaremagic, You are having Urinary tract infection, it may take some time to show improvement. It is commonly seen that organism show resistance to antibiotic so it is necessary to see culture and sensitivity to use best drug to cure infection. If this is antibiotic showing sensitivity then continue it and if not proper drug should change according to sensitivity report. Please continue to take plenty of fluids and if any obstruction is suspected then a Ultrasonography may give clue. You should improve in few days if drugs are working. Please take care. Good Luck.
