Usual Practice To Prescribe Oxycodone For Leg Pain?

Hi My son has a prescription of Alprazolam 0.25 mg and Paxil 12.5 mg, claims he got a prescription of oxycodone 30 mg for pain as well? As a Mom I question it. He had years experienced panic attacks, so I understand the Alprazolam 0.25 mg, Paxil 12.5 mg (he smokes pot since the age of 17 th). He had one episode of seizure, was hospitalized. Cannot believe him that any MD would give him oxycodone 30 mg/8 pills for a leg pain?

Hello

Oxycodon is a wonderful drug for severe pain but it does have addictive properties, it is usually given at 5 to 15 mg every 6 hours.
Oxycodon is not an over the counter drug so he must have got a prescription from his physician. Please check his prescription to be sure.

Thank you
