Uterus Removal Surgery, Uterus Might Be Cancerous. Diet Recommendations And Precautions Post Surgery?
Hi, My mom is 47yrs old. She is about to be admitted for uterus removal surgery. She is not a person to sit quietly & rest. I wanted to know what are the measures of care she should be taking once she is home. What basic diet should she follow? Is complete bed-rest advised? Because we don t want her doing work & it will be tough reasoning with her. The doctors had a doubt that she might have cancer there too but the reports are clear. They have advised her that she should get it checked every 6 months, there is still a risk that it might show.
hi,
after surgery for 24 hours only intravenous fluids will be given then in the next day after returning of bowel movements she can go for liquids, then in the next day semi solids, from 4th post-operative day she can take usual diet but that should be easily digestible and constipation should be avoided.
in case of laparoscopic procedure she can come to home early, sometimes on the next day of procedure, in case of open surgery she can come on 4th day and have to go for suture removal on 6 or 7th day.
around 2 weeks rest is enough, she should not lift any weights, have to maintain the wound area clean.
once the vault gets completely healed, she can go for regular checkup as suggested by doctors.
take care.
