Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter has been light headed when she gets out of bed to where she feels like passing out. This has been happening for a week now and she has laid down all day today as when she gets up it all starts again. After she gets over the dizzy spell her ears start to ring for a while. her blood pressure is 96/56 not sure if this is call for any concern.
If it is from getting up from bed, it may be from postural hypo-tension.. Did you check BP, standing and lying? / It can be from anaemia – what is her haemoglobin? /
The body's balancing mechanism is in the inner ear. An ENT (Ear Nose Throat) specialist is the one to see - especially in the presence of tinnitus. They have special tests to confirm or exclude the contribution of the ear - which probably is the case with her.
If there are no clues, she has to be followed up by a neurologist. MRI may be needed. MRA (MRI angiography) shows blood vessels and is generally done at the same sitting.
Take care Wishing speedy recovery God bless Good luck
