Was Electrocuted, Numbness, Painful Fingers, Been Treated For Anemia. Continue With B12 Medication?

Hi. I got electric shock 2 months ago, when I was fixing outlet in the kitchen. I thought I turned off the breakers, but it wasn t off. Then I got electric shock, I could not move for a while. Since then, my left ring finger feels numbs and is sometimes painful. I am a 43 years old woman, and height is 5 4. I have been treated for anemia and also taking B12 everyday. It has been two months, and I am wondering if I should see a doctor for the numbness and tingling.

Dear Mam,

Thanks For writing to us.

Since you are being treated for anemia and you are taking Vitamin B12, i assume that you have Vit B12 Deficiency anemia (Megaloblastic anemia).

Vit B12 deficiency can cause tingling and numbness, but unlikely just being limited to your one finger.

Since when are you getting treatment for Anemia? Did you have the same complain earlier, or it started after the electrocution.

However, if someone is electrocuted, he/she might feel tingling, prickling, numbing or sometimes a burning sensation. They can be short-term depending on the extent of the electrocution. After a while, the tingling should discontinue on its own.
