Was Taking Losartan And Bystolic Prescribed For High Blood Pressure. Do I Have To Consume Both?
Hi..I was taking losartan 100/25and bystolic 20mg.prescribed by a heart specialist..for over a year...I noticed my pressure went down substantially. Today I needed more meds..so my reg. Dr. Said that the amount I was taking was too much..now he just got me on bystolic 5mg. My pressure can go up160/100 or 155/99..I feel that the bystolic alone especially bystolic 5mg. Will be enough to stablize my pressure..Please help with advice... Mischelle
Most people need more than one drug to control the pressure - acting by different mechanisms, they help at lower doses… The maximal dose of losartan is 100 mg and the pressure is still high – you will need a second drug… The dose has to be tailored to individual requirements Abrupt reduction of bystolic from 20 to 5 mg may be the reason for shoot up /discuss with your doctor and up the dose to 10 mg and check again
Good luck Take care Wishing all well God bless
