I am a hypothyroid person who has received radioactive iodine treatment for hyperthyroidism 2 years ago. After being on the same dosage for 18 months and doing fine , I went hyper again. Doctor decreased my dosage of synthroid 9 months ago. Now I've gained 25 lbs, am cold, losing my hair and my TSH is rapidly climbing. Is it possible that one dosage is too high and the other too low?

you have undergone radioactive iodine ablation, followed by thyroxin supplements..
now there is TSH levels increased inspite of thyroxin..
the weight gain, cold, loss of hair is due to hypothyriodism..
see your endocrinologist for the titration of the dose of thyroxin, so that you that remain euthyriod..
