What OTC Medicine Will Be Best For My Mother?
Hi Doctor, my mother is a 64 yo Hispanic female s/p endoscopy for gastric ulcer. She is c/o productive-clear phlegm-cough X 3 weeks, no fever no hemoptisis. No other symptoms. She has tried OTC cough syrup and it burns her throat and esophagus as she swallows. What OTC medicine do you recommend for her?

Hi,
From history it seems that she might be having acid reflux giving rise burning in throat and esophagus.
Give her Digene or omeprazole medicine for few days.
Avoid giving fried, chillies and junk food.
give her milk diet.
Ok and take care.
