What All Would Be The Side Effects While Stopping Metoprol?
I have been taking metoprol to help, with palpitations but have suffered from severe fatigue. My Cardiologist has determined to take me off the metoprol. I am beginning the step down process from 50 mg per day to 25 mg per day. What side effects should I expect during this process?
Thanks for using healthcaremagic.I understand your concern Brief answer: Palpitations,Hypertension, dizziness, exacerbation of pre-existing coronary artery disease. Detailed answer: According to me,gradual tapering of the drug dose over 1 or 2 weeks, mostly should not result in any withdrawal effects like palpitations, dizziness, arrhythmia etc which i hope your treating doctor has already advised.Seek medical attention if you feel uncomfortable.Hope this information helps you.If any further questions, happy to answer you.Take care
