What Alternative To Lanzol Junior Is Available Without Much Adverse Affects For GERD?

dear doctor.. my child is now 2 months old. she had respiratory problems, retractions just ten days after birth. she was given antibiotics for 5 days and also was given kidpred by the doctor. antibiotics were given again , already about 4-5 weeks . now the doctors says to treat for GERD with lanzol junior and domstal. please advise if this needs to be continued. what alternative is available without much adverse effects.

Hi, thank you for posting.

The fact that the retraction was showed only ten days after the birth, makes me think you child suffer from hypertrophic pyloric stenosis. This disease is present in only 1/1000 birth.

The problem is is related with the contracting of pylor(muscular hyperthropy). This situation doesn't allow the food to pass.

When a child suffer from this disease he loses weight and the skin starts to shrink.

The diagnose is determined by a digestive system X-ray.

In some cases this disease is treated by surgical procedures and in some other cases it is treated with medicines.
To treat this disease is used Eumidrine(Nitrate of Methylatropine) solution 1‰ in water(H2O).
This solution is used before every meal.

As for the medicine you are asking isn't used because your child doesn't suffer from Gastroesophageal reflux disease but from hypertrophic pyloric stenosis
