Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Doctor, my 17 year old autistic son had his first seizure episode on 20 February 2011. There were no convulsions or eyes rolling up or saliva frothing. He was stiff with wrists turned out and eyes open wide. He was making some sort of growling sound. The episode must have lasted 2 or 3 minutes and then he was okay.
The neurologist has put him on Torleva 1000 mg twice daily with initial dose of 500 mg for the first 5 days. We observe he is restless in the mornings and his hand shakes while writing.
I would like to have your advice and also about this drug (manufacturer's pamphlet not available) and whether it has any contradictions with other medicines.
Thank you very much,
=P. Gopal=
