General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear Madam, Hi & Welcome.
I appreciate your concern for your beloved husband.

Risperidone/Risperdal is an atypical anti-psychotic drug used in the treatment of schizophrenia (psychosis), bipolar disorder (manic depression) and other conditions.

It is usually recommended in the initial dose of 2 mg per day taken once or twice daily (morning and evening) for two weeks, then depending upon the response the dose can be increased up 8 mg per day.

Hope these answer your queries.
Best wishes for your husband.
