Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
52 year old woman, frequent exerciser, no red meat or pork & lots of veggies & fruits... Feb 2013 I had a heart attack - no blockage, no permanent damage - coronary artery spasm (Extreme emotional stress over long period of time). I m back exercising but get anxious when my heart flutters. The emotional stress has decreased significantly; What are my chances this may happen again? Thank you for any help and response.
As you have mentioned you have Heart attack (want to know more on what basis the diagnosis given symptoms, ECG changes, cardiac enzymes)
Also you must have undergone coronary angiography as there is no blkockage, no permanent damage and cause given as coronary artery spasm.
Risk of heart attack depend on your age, gender (male>female), smoking, high blood pressure, presence and control of diabetes, cholesterol problems, (all these parameters are considered in estimating the risk of heart attack in Framingham risk score)
In your case you have not mentioned any risk factor so You should not worry about future chance of heart attack, its chances will be same as another healthy 52 yr female without any risk factors for heart attack.
You should continue your exercise try to practice different relaxation techniques, yoga.
