Is there a way to differentiate between a toddlers naval infection being impetigo or not? My 30mo son was seen tonight by a ped in his Dr's practice. She was not sure if it was impetigo or not. This is day 10, it gets inflamed and has clear or yellow discharge. No fever, illness or injury. He does not play with his naval and it is normally covered by a bodysuit. Thank you! I run a daycare and it would be helpful to know if there are any futher precautions I should take.
