Hi, Yasmine tablet contains Drospirenone and Ethinyl estradiol which are synthetic analogues of the natural hormones in the body. It helps in contraception by changing the vaginal secretion which prevents the motility of the sperm, prevents the uterine endometrial changes and also prevents the ovulation and release of egg. Side effects of the drug are nausea, vomiting, breast tenderness, etc. There are no proven studies confirming adverse effects on the developing fetus on exposure to combined oral contraceptives during the period of pregnancy. So, you can carry the pregnancy without any fear. Anomaly scan done during the 5th month of gestation helps to identify the probable birth defects earlier.
