Hello, Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. I have gone through your query and here are your answers. 1. Betnesol injection will not affect psychological development in the fetus. Instead, it helps to prevent intracranial hemorrhages in a preterm baby. 2. Your wife has been prescribed the medication to improve the lung function should she land in premature labor owing to the elevated amniotic fluid levels. Best results are shown with two injections given 24 hours apart. 3. If the second dose is missed by more than 12 hours, it may be ignored and partial protection is given. However, if it is only a couple of hours late, the dose can be administered to afford complete protection. Hope this helps.
