What Are The Adverse Effects Of Overdose Of Schizophrenic Pills?

My name is Elaine, I have an uncle who is skitzophrenic in which I care for part time. I always give him his pills after he finishes his dinner. Well tonight was different, my mother came by and fed him and gave him his pills (in which I did not see until my son told me) which I was unaware of. She left after she served him and me as normal gave him another dose of his pills which is 7pills after dinner. When I walked away my son said "he already had them, grandma gave them to him already." I am sure this is an overdose I am taking him to the hospital RIGHT NOW! what are the serious causes that can happen? Will they pump his stomach, can he die? I need to know Please help I am very scared for what I have started! It was an accident I didn't know!

dear Elaine,
First let me know which anti psychotic medicines does your uncle used to take and in which doses. Usually 2nd generation antipsychotics which are more used now a days has a better side effect profile. Just doubling dose of one night should not be that much dangerous to cause death. Sedation might be more..and pt might be drowsy..some extra pyramidal symptoms might develop which can easily be managed by central anyicholinergics like Trihexyphenidyl ...You are going to hospital and consilt your psychiatrist.
