What Are The Adverse Effects Of Plastic Consumption?

Was almost done cooking a huge pot of soup, when I went to include the last ingredient (corn kernels). I had placed the corn in the empty, flimsy plastic container that the mushrooms came in. When I went to drop the kernels of corn into the boiling hot water my hand slipped & the container dipped into the pot long enough for the plastic to look warped from the end of the container where I dropped the corn in the pot? I am probably going to toss this huge pot of soup out but I wanted to know if this kind of flimsy plastic floats or is visible enough to spot in one isolated area? And it really makes me wonder how often this kind of thing happens accidentally in restaurants & such? What would you do with the soup?

I have gone through your query and would try to help you in the best possible way.

Brief ans:
Avoid consuming it.

Detailed:

There are a number of plastics present in the market,.

Concerns:
A very few plastic molecules are known to cause immediate effects, yes they can congeal in your body but they are not usually sharp or big enough to block it or damage it physically though it can happen in rare cases.

Permanent Lodging:
it's a remote possibility unless intestines already have sum other issues like malformation, fistula or polyps.(which are usually present in old people).

How plastics can actually hurt you:

Plastics are known to cause Cancers, but this again, not with a single consumption or in inhalation but it USUALLY takes a couple of decades to show its symptoms.
Microwave-safe plastic containers and wraps are safe to use in the microwave.

But plastic containers not intended for use in the microwave or containing warm or hot could melt and potentially leak chemicals into your food.

Plastics causing cancer:

Bisphenol A (BPA)
Bisphenol A (BPA) is one of the most pervasive chemicals in modern life. used in consumer products, including food packaging. BPA exposure may disrupt normal breast development in ways that predispose women for later life breast cancer.

Phthalates
endocrine-disrupting chemicals found in PVc,linked to early puberty in girls>later-life breast cancer.

Vinyl Chloride
Vmanufacture of polyvinyl chloride (PVC)>breast cancer among workers involved in its manufacture.

Dioxin
manufacture of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) a known human carcinogen, and is also an endocrine disruptor.

Styrene
found in Styrofoam food trays, egg cartons, disposable cups and bowls, carryout containers and opaque plastic cutlery>possible human carcinogen.

Conclusion: Immediate effects are rarely expected but plastic mixing in you food, your air,you water can be dangerous that's why paper recycled bags (green bags)are preferred these days.
