What Are The After Effects Of Bone Plate Removal?

I have spoken to my doctor and I have decided to get my plates removed, I have two of them on either bone of my left arm, close to the wrist. It has been 3 years since they were put in and I am more consernced with what will happen in the weeks after I have them removed. Will I be in any pain, and how long until I can resume using my left arms, for things like driving my manual car.

Hello,

Implant removal is a simple procedure and does not cause many problems. You might experience pain for a couple of days and will settle by itself. The procedure will not affect your routine activities either.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
