Pregnancy is first to be ruled out in case of absent periods in a reproductive age group women. If pregnancy is ruled out, hormonal imbalance is the main cause of absent / irregular periods. Polycystic ovaries,Uterus abnormalities, hypothyroidism, nutritional deficiencies like anemia should be ruled out. Any vaginal or pelvic infections should be ruled out.
I would suggest you to take a pelvic ultrasound, thyroid function test and complete blood count to identify the cause of hormonal imbalance. You may require a course of hormonal pills for the next few months to regularize your menstrual cycles.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
