What Are The Causes Of Fluttering In Heart And Faster Heart Beat?
Hello my name is Denise Naranjo I suffer from Chronic and in tremendous pain! My doctor prescribed Gabapentin 300 mg x2day, I feel my heart flutter and beat a little fast. Does not hurt but that s what I noticed. I m desperate to feel better because having Anxiety also, does not help the situation.
Palpitations can be a side effect of gabapentin. For chronic pain if you are not relieved by gabapentin, you can ask your cardiologist to consider the following options:
- pregabalin along with methyl cobalamine can be tried
- amitryptalline can also be given in some cases and helps to relieve pain
- non steroidal anti inflammatory medicines like diclofenac, aceclofenac can be tried in combination of high dose steroid for short time
In case if it is not relieved then radio ablation of the nerve can be considered as a last resort treatment. Palpitations can be side effect of gabapentin hence you can ask your doctor to consider other drugs, even carbamazepinine can also be tried.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Rini
