What Are The Causes Of Vomiting?

I have been sick since 5/10. It started with vomiting. I felt fine 20-30 minutes before the first episode. Since then, I have had to lay in bed because I can't stay upright for too long without getting woozy. I haven't vomited since yesterday, but when I eat or drink anything, I have to lie still for about 1/2 hour so I don't get nauseous.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The best way in such a case is to consult your Doctor for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations of blood, urine, stool and ultrasonography of abdomen. The probable causes of such a nausea and/or vomiting can be gastritis, GERD, hepatitis and so on. All the investigations will lead to a proper cause so that an appropriate management can be done.

Till then take a PPI, like Omeprazole, Domperidone, if available and antacid and then see the results.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
