What Are The Chances For The Recurrence Of Rectal Prolapse?

dear sir,
i am a male/29 yrs of age/ weight-67 kg/ height-170 cm having the complication of complete rectal prolapse at the age of 11 yrs. last year i have undergone theirsch wiring and the wire removed after 11 months. presently there is no reoccurance of rectum. but still having the feeling of incomplete evacuation.
sir i want to know that how much is the possibility for reoccurance and what i should avoid for not occurance again. also the feeling of incomplete evacuation will improve or it will remain as it is. presently i am taking only laxatives(sodium piclosulphate).

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
It is good to know that the Thiersch stitch was successful in curing your rectal prolapse at the moment. Now that the wire has been cut there are some precautions that you have to take to avoid recurrence:
Sodium Picosulphate works on rectum for ease of evacuation hence you should have added laxative like Cremaffin plain in a dosage that allows only soft and smooth passage of stool in the morning.
You have to make a list of beverages and foods that cause you constipation or any stomach discomfort and avoid these at any cost.
Plenty of fluids orally, high fiber diet.
No straining of any sort like weight lifting, coughing.
Not to loose fat from body as the fat pad around the anorectal canal is one that supports and avoids prolapse.
Regular follow-up with your operating Surgeon to have clinical evaluation.
All these will help to avoid recurrence.
