What Are The Chances Of Contracting HIV From Blood Contact?

hello im a nurse and i accidentally prick my thumb with the needle they use in injecting anesthesia in intradermal to suture the wound,the needle has no blood but it prick my thumb and blood came out, i squeezed it...but the doctor did not inject the needle that deep intradermally,what are my chances,,thanks...

Hi, you have very negligible chance of infection. But therevis definite chance. Fof medical person it may happen many time when you get niddle prick. You need post exposure prophylaxis. and go for confirmatory hiv testing once after a month of exposure. .
