What Are The Chances Of Gaining Weight After Thyroidectomy?

i m scheduled to have my thyroid removed because of nodules. I eat a lot and i m afraid that i will gain a lot of weight after the surgery and that i will have difficulty taking it off. i ve always been a little muscular most of my life. What are the chances that i will gain a lot of weight? Also,I ve been hearing that some women experience having difficulties getting pregnant after thyroidectomy. Is that true? Thank You..

There are chances of gaining weight after total thyroidectomy due to unavailability of thyroid hormones in the blood,so you have to take thyroid supplements from outside.
Yes there are chances of infertility after thyoidectomy because thyroid hormones have impact on fertility.Infertility chances can be nulled by external supplementation.
