Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Protected sex is generally considered to be safe particularly with regard to
HIV and STD's like
syphilis,
gonorrhea, chlamydia.
However
genital herpes, genital warts, and genital herpes can still be transmitted because a condom does'nt always completely cover the infected skin and these STD's can be acquired by genital rubbing during sexual act.
Therefore, if you ever notice genital growths or erosions or ulcers, you must immediately see a skin specialist.
As per her last test, 2 months ago, in which she seeming was clean of STD's is fine but what about the 2 months period after that? I think you would be wrong in assuming that she did'nt had sex with anyone else during this period. Therefore you cannot assume that she was clean of STD's when you had sexual encounter with her.
Even though it was a protected sexual encounter and therefore chances of HIV are negligible, I would still suggest that for your own peace of mind you should get yourself tested for STD's at appropriate intervals.
Testing for
Herpes simplex virus (
HSV) can be earliest at 2 weeks; HIV and
VDRL at 1 month initially and then repeat tested at 3 months.
Regards
Always practice safe sex with a condom!
