What Are The Chances Of Getting Pregnant After Having D&C?

I had my D&C back in March 2011 because my baby didn t have a heartbeat so i had to have D&C so since 2011 me and my husband have been trying to since that year till today,we are just trying,I am JUST 22,,So now am confused if i am going to get pregnant again. Your answer will help.Thanx

Hello there, thanks for posting your query.
Let me tell you that any surgical procedure done on the body carries a risk of infection and DAnd C Is no different. You must understand that the reason for delay in conception could just be natural meaning, you could take a little longer than usual to conceive ( sub fertility ) or there could be a a possible infection of the genital tract that could have affected fallopian tubes or endometrium to result in tubal block or endometritis.
To have a clear picture on what is happening, I suggest you to get a hysterosalpingogram ( tube test )Which will show if the tubes are open or blocked. Depending on the test results, Your doctor may suggest you the next plan of action whether to try on your own for some more time or to take medical help to achieve pregnancy.
Do take folic acid 5 mg daily once as a pre conceptional vitamin.
