What Are The Chances Of Getting Pregnant After Taking Ipills?
Hi, Me & my girlfriend had unprotected sex on 7th of July 2014. After that I gave her ipill the very next day. She reported bleeding after 1-2days after taking the pill. We did have sex again on 14th July but with a condom on. Her periods were expected on 3rd August, but haven t come yet. Should I be worried ? How many more days should i wait before I go for a pregnancy test ? Also if she s pregnant, what s the cost of abortion in India ?

I understand your concern
I pill is very effective in preventing the pregnancy (95-97%) as you took with in 24 hour of the sex.
Bleeding after the pill is a breakthrough bleeding due to progesterone withdrawal effect.
I pill itself cause delay in period by 8-10 days.
If period will delay by more than 10-12 days then you have to think about the pregnancy (pregnancy is confirmed by urine pregnancy test and or blood HCG).
If you will be pregnant then still you an terminate the pregnancy by ABORTION pill under the supervision of the gynecologist.
Cost will depend n the gynecologist experience and practice (varies from 2000-4000 INR).
But I think period will come and you have no need to go for abortion.
